Rare Orange Tabby Maine Coons

We are overjoyed to announce that our gentle Windy has been adopted by a wonderful new member of the DLuxxy family.

It comes as no surprise that this remarkable kitten—with her quiet grace, her instinctive kindness, and her talent for making any space feel like home — captured a heart so completely. Her new human is someone who truly understands the rare gift of a companion who meets you halfway, who greets you at the door, and who settles into your lap as though it were always meant to be.

Windy's story began with a quiet arrival. It continues now with a quiet, perfect belonging. Windy's story began with a quiet arrival. It continues now with a quiet, perfect belonging.

From all of us at DLuxxy, we wish Windy and her new family a lifetime of shared sunbeams, warm laps, and the deep, steady companionship that only a cat like her can provide.

Congratulations, sweet girl. You were always destined for a beautiful life.

The Gentle Elder Sister

Some kittens announce themselves. Windy simply arrives — quietly, gracefully, and with the calm assurance of someone who has already figured out how the world works.

She is an orange mackerel tabby female with a coat that is still coming into its own. Right now, it carries some cottony softness, but it is already showing every promise of becoming very silky and shiny as she grows. She is lighter in color than Alta, and her coat catches the sunshine in a way that photos simply cannot capture. You need to see it for yourself.

Like all our medium-to-long haired tabbies, her mackerel pattern reads soft rather than sharp — the length of the coat diffuses the stripes, blending them into something gentler. Her markings show best on her face and neck, hear paws, and the tail.

What sets Windy apart, though, is her gentleness. At just over a month older than Alta, she has naturally stepped into the role of elder sister — and she plays it beautifully. During their daily wrestling matches, Windy self-handicaps with a tenderness that is remarkable to watch. She lets Alta win. She pauses when the little one needs a breather. She teaches without ever being rough. It is the kind of instinctive kindness that cannot be trained into a cat — only inherited.

Personality: Social, cuddly, and quietly confident. Windy does beautifully with other cats, with humans, and with the general chaos of a busy household. She is the kitten who will greet you at the door, follow you to the kitchen, and settle into your lap as though it were always hers.

Ideal home: A family or individual who values gentleness as much as beauty. Windy would thrive in a home with other cats, respectful children, or simply a human who appreciates a companion that meets them halfway. She has love to give and no interest in withholding it.

Alta is spunky when the moment calls for it — but for the most part, she is remarkably laid back for a kitten her age.

She is an orange classic tabby female with a cottony, dense, and gloriously fluffy coat. This is the kind of coat that nature designed for insulation — protection from desert heat in summer and chill in winter. Run your fingers through it and you'll understand. She feels like a living, breathing down comforter.

Her classic tabby pattern is soft rather than sharp. This is entirely expected for medium-to-long haired Maine Coons — the length of the coat diffuses the swirls, blending them into something gentler. Like all our tabbies, Alta reads almost solid at a glance, with her markings concentrated where they show best: the face, the paws, and the tail.

But her true distinction is not just her coat. It's her temperament.

Alta lands on my lap every single time I sit down. Every time. She has also developed a habit that is genuinely unusual for a Maine Coon: she loves to be carried. I find myself toting her around the house while I work — and she is perfectly content the entire time, draped over my arm like she was born there. Most Maine Coons prefer the dignity of their own four paws. Alta has no such pride. She would rather be held.

In short: she is going to be one extraordinary snuggle bunny. That much is certain.

Ideal home: Someone who wants a kitten physically in their life — not just nearby, but with them. Alta will follow you, land on you, and request pickup with quiet persistence. If you have ever wanted a cat that genuinely enjoys being held, she is your girl.
