DLuxxy-Born Queen Selected for Her Wild Phenotype.
For the longest time, Aurum was as wild in spirit as she was in appearance. She was ever watchful, ever listening, and preferred the quiet safety of hiding places. Earning her trust—and the privilege of petting her — was a slow and patient journey.
Her first pregnancy marked a beautiful transformation. After welcoming her little ones and witnessing the tender care we gave them, something shifted within her. She became submissive, responsive, and deeply trusting. Today, she is a devoted companion who listens to every word we speak. She no longer runs when it is time for grooming or bathing; she is wonderfully handleable in the bath and calm when receiving medication. A completely different personality has blossomed behind those same lynx-like eyes.
Aurum's kittens carry the potential to inherit her extraordinary wild appearance.
Her first litter is already showing delightful promise — social, engaging, and making eye contact with us as they play, just like any beloved house cat.
I treasure Aurum for the rare beauty she brings to our program and for the gentle, trusting soul she has become. She is a true gem among our dynasty cats.
Because of Aurum's wild nature in the past, I never wished to intrude upon her with photography sessions.
I respected her need for privacy and space. For this reason, we do not have many photos of her—but we cherish the ones we have all the more.
When she has recovered from her pregnancy and summer shedding, and begins to build her new winter coat, I will take great pleasure in capturing more imagery of this exquisite animal. Please do come back to see Aurum's pictorial narrative unfold.
Aurum possesses a truly unique appearance, one that sets her apart from any cat I have known. She resembles a beguiling blend of a wild lynx and a raccoon – her tall and delicate front frame giving way to an elevated rump and remarkably long, powerful rear legs. She is, without question, the most unusual and handsome girl. Even our veterinarian marvels at how remarkably wild she appears.
Aurum's mackerel tabby pattern grants her one of the breed's most treasured features—a raccoon-like, heavily striped tail. This striking trait is highly valued by breed judges, and it is easy to see why. Her tail is a signature of her wild phenotype and a beloved hallmark of the Maine Coon.
Aurum's first litter has already begun to reveal its promise—social, playful, and full of charm. I am preparing a dedicated gallery to showcase these little ones and the wild beauty they may carry forward. Please check back soon to meet Aurum's legacy.
